What to Expect with my 930? - Page 3

On a side note, as I think I mentioned, I can touch the heatsink at full load and feel almost no heat.
You need to have fans directly attached to the heatsink. Those other fans are just intake and exhaust case fans. Your heatsink needs a fan(s) in order to properly scavenge the heat away from the heatsink. This is how it's done.

Well I may need to get another heatsink then. A fan wont fit. Want to see a picture?

Well, two things. I'm stable at 3.43Ghz On, well, I guess "passive" air cooling. lol (I dont remember how many hours it ran, but I didn't want to try to push it with no fans. All I changed was the base clock and set the multiplier to 22 lol Kinda interesting, though.

And... I'm actually pretty certain I can put a fan on here. The reason I said it wouldnt fit earlier is because I remember putting it on the other direction and things were in the way. but it looks like I can even fit 2 on. Problem is, one direction the fan will almost be flat touching the power supply (a centimeter away from it at best) on the other side itll be blowing all the hot air on my graphics card. Basically My fans go Up, the fans I would add would go to the side. I'll edit this post with pictures in a second, anyway though.

Edit:

Over the top view: (It would be such a shame to cover up that heartbeat )

Pretty much the same shot, with a little more perspective

Closer up:

Glamour Shot (While I'm snappin)

Glamour Shot 2 (I love this case.)

So.. Any old 120mm fan will do? I still don't know how the whole

airflow thing will do

Yeh 45C is pretty high.... At 4Ghz idle i get usually 35C-42C. Full load for 1 hour hits 78C max. But i added a 120mm fan on the heatsink of my V8 for push-pull config.

As for you problem, it could be that you didnt apply ur thermal compound properly or the CPU cooler. If something is really wrong try testing the intel stock cooler and see if there is any difference.

Turn the Megahalem on it's side, the heat pipe's will still work fine, and add a fan.
