Lol, yes it does. Most english speaking countries (eg. UK, US, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and many countries with a majority of english speakers) define 1 billion as 1,000 million.

Back to the topic, what kind of review ONLY uses synthetic benchmarks, why no game testing (eg. crysis test runs)- 3d mark and a shader bench are fine, but would be much more useful to see how this translates into real world performance.

You should compare by price, not power consumption. Any of these laptops will get about an hour or less anyway on the battery.

uhhh no... not really. The 5870m actually consumes around 70w in total. The number ati has given us is not the total power consumption where as nvidia has stated the peak.
