ASUS motherboard and Coolermaster V8 question

Does the Coolermaster V8 fit on this mobo?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131363

And as for thermal paste..doesn't the Coolermaster V8 come with thermal paste already on it? Wouldn't this be against putting some Arctic Silver 5 paste on the CPU as that's what their how-to says on the website. Says to only put a small dab of paste the size of a uncooked grain of rice on the CPU without smearing it and just add the cpu cooler..

But if the Coolermaster V8 comes with paste on it..would I still add Arctic silver 5 to the cpu? (Arctic Silver 5 is the thermal paste I bought)

Hopefully my questions aren't confusing.

Edit: Since I have Arctic Silver 5..if the Coolermaster v8 comes with paste on it, is it okay to mix thermal paste types like that?

Yes, it depends on your case though.

Usually some heatsinks do, some don't like my Noctua came with thermal paste in the little mini needle/thing ( can't think of the word lols )

No, you either 1) take it off with rubbing alcohol and apply AS5 or 2) Leave it on and install it

You wouldn't want to mix them because some have different compounds and might react or something similar.

If I were you, I'd pick a better heatsink

1.) So if I were to do that..then I wouldn't need to apply any thermal grease to the CPU then, correct?

2.) Why don't you like the Coolermaster V8?

The paste that comes with the V8 is pretty good. I used it for a couple months then decided to try some AS5 to see if it improved the temps.

Did not. I still idle at 33c . load at 40c. I think the V8 is pretty good ,not as good as a Megahelms. But it does not cost as much either.

Thanks for the info, guess I'll just leave the stock stuff on it. The AS5 doesn't go bad does it?..Like if I don't use it for awhile.

Yes it will fit that motherboard..just make sure it will fit in your case and no it doesn't come with the paste applied, paste is given seperate in a tube..

one more thing they are giving a free sample of thermal fusion 400 with it which is better than Asilver5..so try that..

Thanks man. Yea..the case I'm putting this stuff into is a Coolermaster HAF 932..so not worried about fitment lol..but I also saw people with the cooler installed in my case so I know for sure it fits.

Do you know if AS5 goes bad if I don't use it for awhile?

Edit: Okay..this might be a dumb question..but which one would I put the paste on? The CPU or the V8? My first build so go easy on me..

Actually, some people put the thermal paste on both. They call it tinting the cooler base. in other words a very thin coating. you can see through it. There are several methods to apply it to the CPU. the two line method is good. the grain off rice sized dot in the middle. The plastic baggie finger rub ( I like this one).

Google it and you will find some good articles and maybe a youtube.
Don't use too much or too little. check out Arctic Silvers website.

AS's website says to only put a dab the size of a uncooked grain of rice in the middle of the CPU and then just put the CPU cooler on it and the force from that will spread the paste out..

To "spread" it out yourself is wrong in another words or to add the paste to both the cooler and CPU.

Personally, I thought the paste that came with the V8 was terrible.

I used AS5 on my V8. Put a little bit on my CPU, spread it with a piece of plastic, and put the cooler on it, done.
