3-way CrossfireX 5770 worth it?

Thread Starter
now my friend wants crossfireX with 3 5770's and TBH i do to ahah, Is it really worth it though?, I hear 3-way does not scale too well is that true?
i might get 4 of them if the scaling is worth it

opinions on other cards for crossfire are always welcome, his max budget is a little over 600 i say no more than 650 if we can help it. NVIDIA is also an option he isn't brand loyal.

thanks

Good question, I like my two 5770's even though not all games support CF, you still have the memory boost.

I wonder if you would not be better off with two 5970's though?

Edit: Oops i over looked the part about your friend, I saw the 5970 in your sig.

I am also curious about this. But to be honest, my next upgrade would probably be 2 5850s or something.

Or maybe a GTX465

If he has 2 5770s, he already has the power of a single 5870 which is damn good.

If he wants to go with 3 5770s, might as well go 2 5850s and OC them to 1000 core. That gives you at or above a 5870 level wtih each card

I'd say with that budget, he should try to find a 5970. Less heat now, and the option to Crossfire later. And its the same as 5850 crossfire, or 5870 crossfire when you overclock it.

I had two... trust me, do it!

These cards scale incredibly well!

I know someone who swears by TriFire for Bad Company 2!!

He noticed such a great increase, and no more worries about his minimum FPS!

EDIT: If you only own one 5770, then I say no.. sell the card and buy a 480 or 5970 (depending on your motherboard).

If you own two, then what are you waiting for?
