1055T at 56C on load (stock settings) ?

Thread Starter
My Phenom II X6 1055T runs at 56C after running prime for some time. (~15-30min)
Not overclocked, just stock settings. But I have the Scythe Mugen 2.
I even replaced the original screws, with screws with a longer thread,
so that i could tighten the cooler contact to the cpu a bit more.
I think if i would have used the boxed cooler, i would reach the amd
stated max of 62C.
Overclocking is not possible, as it reaches 61C in 5-10min at 3600MHz.

So what does that mean:
I have just had bad luck and got a crap model of the 1055T?
Do you think I should try sending it back (i have 14days return possibility)
and get another 1055T?
Or do you think the highly overclockable 1055T (near 4GHz) might only
been the first 1055T series. and later produced 1055Ts might be less
overclockable?

(thermal paste is applied correctly. i even tried reseating to exclude the possibility of any problems related to that).
(I think the heat distribution inside the cpu's metal case is bad at my 1055T, as the Scyythe Mugen 2 gets only slightly warm)

It's highly unlikely the CPU's fault that it's running hot, returning it won't help. It's either the way the cooler is mounted or the airflow through the case is bad. Or you just have a really high room temperature.

currently my computer lies on my desk, as i'm reseating the cpu and stuff,
so i have better access. (the CPU fan is set to full speed in BIOS)
room temparature is not that cool, as it's summer and I'm in the second story. (the attic is right above that story)

A good air cooler can take the temperature difference between the room and the CPU to around 25-30°C for 130W CPUs. If you have 30°C in your room there's not much headroom left.

how do the other people then get 4GHz at 55C at full load?
(should go like 30C room temparature + 25C diff = 55C)
so still my cpu is the problem, not the room temparature,
right ?

Coolers like the Mugen 2 are highly dependant on case airflow. You should install some fans if your case allows it.If not then I suggest you buy a new case with plenty of airlow. You should try to re-seat the heatsink using some good thermal paste(MX-2,MX-3,OCZ Freezer,AS5).Also have you entered in to the BIOS to make sure that the CPU is not getting too much voltage? The 1055T comes in 2 versions one with the TDP 95W and one with 125W so the stock voltage should be between 1.25v and 1.35v depending on the version you have.

My mugen has 2 cooler push-pull, and my OC is 32C idle on 22C ambient, 42 on load.

125W is the version. 95W comes out later.
default vcore is 1.425V (1.475V on Turbo).

currently my computer lies on my desk, as i'm reseating the cpu and stuff,
so i have better access.
and this is more active cooling, than a case airflow.

also case airflow isn't the issue here, my Mugen 2 is just slightly warm,
even the heatpipes at the point where they just come out of the coolers sock,
are just barely warm.

Default vcore is 1.325 NOT 1.425. That is your issue.

agreed, the default core your mobo is setting the cpu is too high. if anything you coudl manually adjust it to 1.25V. should solve your issue at temps.
