Please help if you can

Here's the deal.

I just recently built a system around the AMD 1090T on a Crosshair IV Formula to facilitate home recording. I have an old USB Audio Interface (the Line6 Toneport KB37). It is a convenient MIDI Keyboard/Audio interface combination which covered all my recording needs on my ancient Athlon 64 system (I only record single channel audio from a guitar/bass or microphone). I have 7 Ultimate x64 and I just can't get the damn thing to work. As soon as windows boots up and sends the welcome sound to the interface the system crashes and reboots with a blur on screen/static distortion and fragmenting of the image.

On occasions after multiple reboots the interface will work but only for a short time.

Previously it would report a BSOD with usbfilter.sys being the cause of the problem (AMD driver for USB).

Last night I successfully booted with the device working after Disabling USB 3.0 device in BIOS.

I presume this is a hardware conflict of some sort. I have the onboard Audio disabled.

I have tried various drivers for the device, contacted support on their forums (useless) and am now stuck without the money to buy another interface that will meet my requirements and with no recording facilities.

I will appreciate any help you folks can offer. Thanks in advance.

Did you have Windows 7 on the old system? It might be somehow incompatible with the OS.

You may also want to consider a dual boot installation with Windows XP. I have run into a few issues myself with older legacy equipment in Windows 7.

Looking on their site however I see they do offer a Windows 7 driver. if you are unable to resolve this with a change in software you can also consider a PCI add in USB controller. If there is a hardware conflict it may help to resolve it.

At $10 it's worth a shot I would think. This one has a NEC chipset, known for being more stable and compatible then others.

I agree. I doubt their drivers work with x64 OS at all.

Actually, both of those sound like a damn plan to me

I'd prefer not having to record in XP as that limits my ram but oh well.

Thanks bavarianblessed you deliver yet again...
