4G iPhone?

Thread Starter
I have a 3gs iPhone now and the 3g coverage is not that great. Now here comes the 4g iPhone, funny. AT&T has no 4g network. Sure the 4g iPhone itself is much upgraded over the one I have but heck I want be able to take advantage of the full performane of the phone. How long will that take? Sure would be nice to see the service up to par with the hardware (a pipe dream I guess). All that money the goverment has been throwing around.... would be nice to see a good chunck invested into the Internet and wireless technology. We are way behind in both.
Well I'll probably buy a 4g but because of multitasking, video chat, higher res and few other things, not for 4g though. Hopefully It will be avalible not too far off.

Firstly, I thought the new iphone 4 is NOT going to be a 4G phone. I'm pretty sure I read that correctly on the press release.

Secondly, the only reason the networks are behind like they are (especially AT&T), is because of how greedy the companies are. They are not spending the money to expand, like they should, and yet they are charging ridiculous rates and fees. The technology and funding is there - the companies are just asses.

Edit: Also, the LAST thing I ever want MY tax money to go to is pos companies like AT&T, Charter, or any other internet service providers. They are already thieves as it is.

It's iPhone 4...NOT 4g. It's still a 3g phone.

in the city of Philly, Pennsylvania, United States, the whole town is 4G enabled, yes that means if you have a laptop and your playing counterstrike online you can walk out side in the middle of the woods and still be playing counter strike online. 4G is out and is ready. ATT is a very very greedy company and the CEO frankly doesnt give a d*&% about how bad the service is, hes more concerned about the new BMW he will be leasing this year. im not sure if 4G was dropped from the iPhone 4 though ill have to look it up. Do not be surprised if the is phone 4G but is not usable at 4G because ATT will take its sweet time building 4G towers.... my impression is that the CEO saw the bill for the 4G impletmentation and dropped the 4G feature on the iPhone release all together, because he wouldnt be able to get that new 2011 BMW...

Oh my bad, so it WAS going to be 4g but not anymore, just 3g. Thought it was stupid releasing a 4g phone on a 3g network.

Lol....typical marketing and you fell for it. The iphone 4 is the forth generation iphone, not a 4G device.
