*** is wrong with people? a simple gui does not mean dumbed down. and that new menu is nothing like apple would ever make. the new tf2 menu is like that because all the new players that have probably never ever played a fps.

Yea I'm firing up my macbook pro in Snow Leopard(it's been a while) so I can get my headphones too.

because someone has a macbook, doesn't mean they suck at games. it really pisses me off to see all the ocn threads bashing all the people who are new to gaming (then saying lol apple). opening steam to the macintosh just created a lot of future gamers.

This. I know plenty of people with gaming PC's and MBP's. I fired up TF2 on my account on one of them, and got my earbuds . I expect a decent dose of flaming though. I've had to mute people more than once because their mac flaming was getting really annoying. And that was before the earbuds.

And I for one actually like the new UI.

haters gonna hate. btw, my earbuds are awesome. I doubt there is a way to restrict my tf2 server to mac only, but that would be fun for a day. im actually creating an apple store tf2 map......

^^ Hey you guys above me: you have Macs, and yet you are not playing TF2 on them. You are acquiring your earbuds and then playing on your windows machines.

What does that tell you about Macs and gaming?

Valve has been working with windows since it was founded. Hell the owner was a programmer on the first Windows OS. You can't blame there inexperience on MacOSX. Give it time.

Plus most people here have mac book pros as second computers. Why would I play tf2 on my mac at 30fps(on a good day) when I can play tf2 at 250fps on my sig rig.

I don't have a mac, I borrowed a friends. And why would I game on a laptop, with a small screen, when I could game on a desktop? If I had an iMac, or a Mac Pro, then that might be a different story.

I don't see why gaming on mac would be that different.

That laptops aren't as fast as desktops? Most people have a MBP. It isn't like OS X is somehow inferior when it comes to gaming, most people just don't have desktop macintoshes. Also, the OpenGL port is buggy right now.
