Considering a lot of theaters charge extra for 3-d, damn right I kept the glasses. They cost me like $2.50. Not to mention, now I have a pair of decent-quality 3-D glasses instead of those terrible, paper firework quality ones.
Honestly, I can't believe people actually gave these back to the theaters after they were forced to pay what is probably 100 times the cost of manufacturing them just to use their dirty, disease-ridden novelty glasses that probably made them billions off of people. I think by reading the article, too, it's pretty clear that most places just took them straight out of the box, quickly vacuum sealed them with some Nutty Bar wrappers, then sold them for $2.50 again or whatever price.
Same reason I don't recycle, but reuse whatever I can. I bought my product, and I'd rather destroy the environment than give it back to the same company for free and be forced to buy it again.
