We got a new cinema here. Our's are thick plastic like sunglasses, and has a piece in the center that I guess receives a signal from somewhere up by the screen that enables them to work. You can put your finger over the sensor and they stop working. Lol. They are probably very expensive, so of course they are re used.

As we all sit here in our own personal cloud of bacteria, while internally, our gut churns and feeds the billions upon billions of bacteria in our GI tract. What's a few germs on a pair of plastic eyeglasses? The chair you sit in to watch the film is coated and probably farted on a few time, too, just for good measure.

Honestly, I can't believe people actually gave these back to the theaters after they were forced to pay what is probably 100 times the cost of manufacturing them just to use their dirty, disease-ridden novelty glasses that probably made them billions off of people. I think by reading the article, too, it's pretty clear that most places just took them straight out of the box, quickly vacuum sealed them with some Nutty Bar wrappers, then sold them for $2.50 again or whatever price.

Same reason I don't recycle, but reuse whatever I can. I bought my product, and I'd rather destroy the environment than give it back to the same company for free and be forced to buy it again.
So you like purposefully making things more expensive than they need to be?

3D glasses given out at cinemas were found to be contaminated with bacteria that can cause conjunctivitis, skin infections, food poisoning, or even sepsis or pneumonia, but docs say that the germs found are no more threatening than what you find on the arm rest, box of popcorn, or movie seats."
I had this when I was younger, not nice indeed and it's highly contagious. Though it only lasts 24/48 hours at most when being treated, it would be worth it for a epic 3d movie. .

If you don't recycle the expensive 3D glasses, then more new ones have to be manufactured. Assuming the cost to clean and reuse the glasses is less than it costs to manufacture a new set (which it most assuredly is, otherwise they would be disposable, and not recyclable), the distributor of the glasses will have to charge more for each set in order to cover costs. The theater purchasing the glasses will have increased expenses from having to purchase the glasses at a higher price. This will, in turn, be passed on to the consumer in the form of higher ticket prices for 3D movies.

So yes, from what you wrote, you are indirectly helping to increase movie ticket prices.
