I think my pulse stopped! Nope - the Wii says it's still going.

What will they come up with next?

So you think. My best friend is a xbox fanboy, and he has went through 4 360's over the course of this past year due to RROD. Not to mention, his replacement of Halo 3 four to six* times from the imaginary man in the console with a freaking chainsaw.
And I've experienced the RROD over the past year.
So saying they "sorted the hardware failure around 3 years ago" is a bunch of bull****. Either you are making crap up, or your sources are full of crap too.

*Unsure of exact amount.
...you realize that there is a level of failure that is normal in each console that's out, right? A few here and there is normal and happens across all platforms. Now as for your friend going through 4 of 'em in a year? Well, either you are exaggerating or he was doing something not too nice to them that was lucky enough to still be covered under warranty. (As in not ventilating it at all by blocking the vents with stacks of game boxes and/or other consoles.)

I had an old model it RRODd after about a year, I got a new HDMI model, been dandy ever since and the same goes for every other person I know who owns an xbox. So yes, it pretty much has been sorted out at least compared to the issue it was before.

Judging by your post history, you are clearly a troll who will tell as many lies and make up as many stories as possible to diss Microsoft and the Xbox 360.

This is the most likely scenario. Rumors and photos of the Motherboard have been floating around for months now.

They've greatly improved the reliability of the 360 due to process shrinks and chipset re-spins. It used to be ~50%, now its ~20% or 1 in 5. With the onset of a smaller, cooler 360, the reliability should match the PS3s(10%, which is still far above industry average) The only console who is below or right around industry norm is the Wii of like 3%... Obviously, the complexity of the 360 and PS3 greatly exceed that of the Wii so it isn't too surprising that it is more reliable.

Not to mention the newer PS3 phat's are more unreliable.. the new heatsink design is -terrible-

Is the annoucement that they finally fixed the rrod?

In my house we have 2 360s, weve gone through 6+ 360s (including elite and jasper boards) Ive lost count at this point.

Our 2 original PS3s are running F@H 24/7 to this date.

Consoles suck, PC ftw.

Can only hope some time in the near future that it is. There aren't any decent up-to-date flight sims around anymore unfortunately.
