Birthday in 6 days - Page 2

Thanks Ben...I'll be 20. I'm looking at the price of an i5 system vs an PII x6 system & I'm trying to conceive a way to explain spending so much money when I built this system ONE year ago. It would be a huge hassle, true, and I'm sure I'm overestimating the value of my components, but looking at the price being $380 rather than the expected $450, it doesn't even matter as much.

4GB DDR2 = $75 (I'm guessing)
Phenom II x3 = $75
MA790X-UD4p = $60

That comes out to $210 & I'm there almost (fitting birthday range)

--EDIT--

I'm thinking it over & I'm feeling I should go with a monitor. 22" or 24" I hope...

My personal advice would be to rather not upgrade the CPU, MOBO etc. because it isn't worth it but of course you will have to tell us what you mainly use your PC for.

Yeah, that's the conclusion I came up to. It won't be worth it. But a monitor definitely will. I love my two monitors, but I need something bigger hehe.

Im with him on this. If anything wait your system looks fine anyways. I know you said no to SSD's but what about a larger storage drive? 1tb sure is nice =P

Thought about that two (F2 1.5tb for $75), but I am REALLY EXCITED about the prospect of a 24" LCD like the ones I work with at work. Getting home becomes a bit depressing cuz once you go 24", you never want to go back. *innuendo intended*

That's where I usually find neat coupons/deals/etc. I already looked through HDD's but I'll look again.

Hm, how about this HDD? I've heard nothing but great news about the F3 series.
