Help! Having OC issues

Thread Starter
Ok, i've got a GA-EG45M-UD2H motherboard and a QX9770 CPU, but i can't get this CPU to run stable at any speed above 3.77GHz, which is the same speed my Q9650 was topped out at due to the FSB wall. My CPU is liquid cooled and runs at 46C under full load at that speed so nothing to worry about there.

By raising the voltage to 1.4v, i was able to get the computer to boot at 4GHz, but it crashed shortly after that. Is there some limitation on this board preventing anything stable above 3.77GHz i don't know about? Sounds rediculous but i'm pulling my hair out trying to figure out what's going on here. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

are you overclocking with the multipliers? or the FSB? you need to look into the voltages for your North bridge, and VTT, also Vdroop may be an issue. post up your bios settings and i may be able to give you advise on how to get past 4ghz stable. but try setting your VTT to 1.375ish to stop the Vdroop from being so harsh. also this is a P45 chipset yes? set your NB to 1.25~1.3v aswell. Even though you may be using multipliers to overclock, it still puts stress on the NB and will need more voltage
