My sapphire non ref 5850 idle at 34c, it max out at 83c on furmark. Fan speed is running at 33%

I don't even think it hit 60c when I play crysis.

Should be fine to start OCing, but you should turn the fan up a bit when stress testing.
Be aware you are going to be limited to stock voltage on that card, unless you plan to do a hard mod.

Use MSI Afterburner to set a new fan speed curve. I have mine ramp up to around 80% at 80C, granted my temps never get above 67C with the fan at 70%.

I envy your idle temp. 34 is very good but 83 is too high and the gap between idle and load shouldn't be that big. probably the fan is not kicking enough . just turn up the fan speed or use MSI Afterburner and define a fan-speed chart in settings and you're ready to do some overclocking. AS it seems you got a cool case and cool card (ur idle temps suggest that) I'm sorta sure you would be able to get a good overclock out ot it.

ur vram is good until near 100-105c and above that you're gonna have stability issues.GPU is good until 85c and above that card starts to downclock itself as a protection protocol. Now considering these go get the best out of your card.

GOOD LUCK on your OC ^^

If the card is a reference it should be fine, although it will show as a Asus.

If its NOT reference, you won't be able to and you rick bricking the card.

Otherwords if your not able to change it now, flashing it will probably not do it. Unless you can change the voltages in the video bios editor.
