More threads and cache than the 980X would make me want it,impossbile though since the 990X is most likely just a higher binned super clock capable 980X.

I could really give 2poo wether my rig is amd/intel/nvidia/ati/mac. I buy whatever I feel is the best fit for what I need at the time, considering price/convenience/performance.

Thinking that "gamers" is the most 'use' a pc is going to ever see or need is the source of your stupidity. Max'ing crysis is not the pc'ing pinnacle for everyone on these forums. Just because you personally don't have any useful means of maxing out a bajillion threads doesn't mean there's no such thing.

Some people here could buy that chip and have it pay for itself within a month.

If you want to be taken seriously post some stats on 980x/5860 vs. mangy or something even remotely useful. All you've done so far is run around throwing poo.

True that, and most games dont see much performance boost with anything more than 2 cores.

Yet another CPU that is unjustifiably expensive. There is no valid reason to spend more for a CPU than you can for a good, yet highly used car. And no, I'm not jealous. I feel sorry for anyone who buys this overpriced chip. A smart person gets the 930 and overclocks that, saves a ton of dough.

Um, because it rather irritating that someone feels it's fine to insinuate others are morons, when they themselves have no understanding of what they're talking about. Additionally, because it happens every single time there's a thread about any of these chips. There's little chance for any useful discussion on them because it gets drown out by clowns trolling about their video games running fine on 8400's.....or whatever.

Which is 100% irrelevant. If you want to play video games, by all means, hop on egg for $800 bucks. You don't spend 1k on a chip to play crysis, you spend 1k on a chip to make more money faster.

A smart person knows how to use that chips potential to produce a higher volume of work, and then buy 2 cars instead of 1. I feel sorry for anyone who's unable to see anything passed a used car.

come to think of it. its just like buying a hydrogen fuel cell car today. there might not be many fuel stations that serve hydrogen, but your set for the future before its even needed.

Boom, headshot.

A good example of an opportunity cost.
