But by the time you buy that 990X,Intel has a 1000X a few months later.

I highly doubt that Intel will make an i7 1000X, since their killing off LGA 1366. If Intel does decide to make it, it will probably be on the 2011 socket with a different name. Just my 1cent.

And no, I'm not jealous. I feel sorry for anyone who buys this overpriced chip. A smart person gets the 930 and overclocks that, saves a ton of dough.
I guess the clips in Max that I've rendered 33% faster than my old overclocked 920 must have been all in my head. I guess having 20 DWGs open in AutoCAD and 2 scenes rendering in Revit at the same time was a figment of my imagination.

I guess I wasn't smart because I didn't buy a 930. Thanks for showing me the error of my ways.

But then bring in the I7 with HT on, and the Thuban is battered
100% this.

No reason for an x6 when you only game.

Don't worry, valid point's aren't addressed here, only conveniently ignored.

I second this! I could hardly open up one drawing when I had an Athlon X2 4600 and he is running a 4200!

We can render 2 drawings and play Metro 2033 without a sweat! I did have a 920 and it did not get the job done!

Do we all need the 980 or 990x! No!

All we really need is Food, Water, and a Hot Chick!!!!!!!!!!!!!
