last quesiton. what about shin-etsu ?
Specifications:

Size: 1 gram tube
Thermal Conductivity: 6.0 W/m K
Viscosity (Pascal * Second): 200
Specific Gravity: 2.6
Electrically Conductive: No

AS5 is conductive. Shin etsu is a very good and somewhat pricey TIM, but you pay for quality.

Mx3 I am not familiar with, not having used it, but a page you might be interested in is
http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.ph...=150&Itemid=62

It tests out over 80 TIMs and ranks them.

http://hardwarebistro.com/index.php?...ic-MX-3-Review

as u see Thermal Conductivity of mx-3 is more than shin etsu... it might be better

AS5 is electrically conductive so if you accidently get some on your mobo you could fry it. mx2 and mx3 are non electrically conductive. also mx2 and mx3 have no cure time so you see the best results as soon as you apply it. as5 has a cure time of 200 hours so it will take a while before you see your lowest temps.

I doubt it's worth your time using mx3 instead of shin-etsu if you already have the shin-etsu. It might be as good, but it's not better...
