i7-875k, unlocked multiplier and 1156 mobos are cheaper plus you wont have to buy triple-channel RAM.

Still 45nm, they are binned 870's with a unlocked multi, very good chips.

If you got the cash Id go 930 and you can opt for 6 cores in the future.

i cant decide. im unsure of the i7-875k overclocks so far. There doesnt seem to be much of an indictation what they will usually clock to.

I am also unsure if the 1156 will go with the six core cpus at some point. It seems like the 1366 will have some 6 core cpus available in case i want to upgrade.

Rumors say that intel is unveiling a new socket anyways.

Where in Madison do you live?

3.6GHz for T frequency compared to 3.06GHZ for the 930

200 bucks for that 875 is a steal
