I wish they were binned. Unfortunately they aren't. If they were binned they would cost more.

If you plan on going sli/crossfire and/or want a higher overclock I would go with the i7 930. The only downside is the increased cost in mobo/ram.

If it's in your budget go 1366, if not go 1156.

Well in that case, maybe i'll just end up saving my money, getting a tech station for now and maxing out my q6600 with its current setup.

Socket 1155 - Replaces 1156 next year.
Socket 1356 - Replaces 1366 next year.
Intel and their damn sockets, why cant they just keep one for all like 775 used to be?

I say you get the 930. The 875k has unlocked multi, but doesn't clock any better than an 860.

I was going to do that but I wouldn't wait honestly. After Intel announces its next sockets, they start work on the next one. I'd say go with the 930 if you can afford it. I've heard that overclocking the i7-875 has yet to yield particularly amazing overclocks as far as I've seen. Just my opinion

Yes, but I do a lot of Blu-Ray encoding to MKVs so 6 cores or 8 cores are really what I should be looking for.

Right now I basically play video games on it other than occasionally rip/encode BluRays To MKV.

I'm not sure I can justify spending the money on an upgrade when I can really upgrade early next year. I dont really do anything to push my current setup really hard except rip/encoding blu rays.

I take it you're not a fan of AMD then?

I was thinking the same thing. Have you looked at the 1055T or the 1090T from AMD?
