i just lost all my data :(

Thread Starter
i had just finished setting up windows 7 and i was about to backup all my stuff.

my backup disk was only showing 180mb for some reason, so i went in to computer management and decided to formatted disk to re size it to 2tb...problem was i formatted to wrong disk and now i have just lost all my game pics music and so on....790gb...of ...data.......gone......for ever.......i can just cry now.

let this be a warning to people..allways back up....the only backup i have left is from march 2010 this year.......i only hope this backup restores cos if not ....i don't want to say.

If you're looking for something to retrieve the data (it probably can be retrieved if you haven't already written over the formatted drive)...

Try google: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...=&oq=&gs_rfai=

I suggest a program called GetDataBack. It will restore all your files WITH names, folders, subfolders..etc, unlike most recovery software which will recover all the files with numbered file names ([000001], [000002], etc).

Should be reversible, somehow. There are alot of programs to retrieve deleted files. Best of luck.

You didnt lose all your data from reformat, just the address tables. Pandora works quite well, and its free.

Ive also heard good things about ADRC, but Ive never used it

I would too be nervous as hell if I was in your position. You didnt write new data since the format did you?
