Have laptops screwed you? - Page 6

After buying this asus n71jq-x1 as a desktop replacement, I won't buy a higher end laptop again. Going from my gaming rig to this, makes me really miss an actual desktop. And those high end gaming laptops seem like a giant money pit. I'm really tempted to build another computer, though, my rig is back home and I'd hate to buy a new case, psu, etc.

I'll have to look. Even if it can be pinmodded the motehrboard might not recognize the higher fsb.

The CPU will run faster, but the RAM will run at 2:3 to compensate. Here is the CPU-Z.

Now all the sales guys and managers want this thing. The backpack and mouse were a nice surprise since I didn't know this thing came with them.
Hehe, awesome setup on the company dime, gotta love it. I bought mine as an alternative to lugging my old desktop around, and 3 months later I and a friend started our computer company, and so here I am building new desktops again. Ah me, it's a crazy thing, this "life" gig...

Shameless plug, if you see Viperware on here, thats us.

Yep, this thing still runs like new even though it's showing its age but it's holding its own for the time being.

April 2009 I bought a 6935g T6400 4G 9600GT 1GB for 899, i sold it april 2010 for 480,- (along with a broken laptop(only had to replace the screen from one i had laying) which i sold for 250,-)

March 2010 I bought a 8942g i7 4GB 5850 1GB for 1399, I can now sell it for a bit more then 1050,- While this thing is performing just like a q6600 with a 8800gt in benchmarks! =/

jah, .. these specs and prices screwed me big time, but that's what it cost for gaming infront of the TV

Edit; and sure in things like prime 1M I get around 15 seconds of calculating soh very decent for a laptop along with his 6k7+ vantage on OC(5k7 stock)) and +10k 3dmarks 06 on OC(8k5 stock) and 150k aquamarks on OC it's still a lot of performance on your lap with less noise then your desktop

My Asus N50Vn has been pretty good for a mid-range lappy. My wife and I have both used it for school, and my son currently games on it. My only complaint about it was that it shipped with 4GB RAM, but a 32 bit OS. This was remedied by installing Win7 x64.
