7800GS + BF2 = Unhappy Shawn. - Page 3

i'd say go for a complete driver clean, and reinstall the card as though you were putting a new one in... sometimes computer stuff just likes to be put in exactly the same way you did the first time, and actually work right.

Well, This card was installed on a fresh Reformat, The drivers that came with it were messed, And everything since.

time for the good ol' RMA maybe?

First off, Call who you bought the card from, xfx, e-vga, whatever it is. Ask them if there are other people complaining of this, Seems to be a driver problem if anything, patience and eventually you can get the new drivers when they come out. I've just switched to nvidia so I do not know much. If at stock it struggles, Check how many pipelines are enabled, Also check your mobo is set to 8x pci-e or 8x agp whatever the situation is. Doubt it's the cpu, hmm..Power supply seems good aswell, Try running a benchy or two, such as 3dmark 05 or am3 to rule out that it's not a bf2 related problem.

Okay, Ran F.E.A.R., Everything was just as ****ty as BF2 on ALL LOW settings. The test on all low 640x480 gave me an average of 24FPS.

I'm not going to call EVGA tommorow and ask if their have been others.

I'm going to tell them they are going to fix this problem, Or they are NOT getting back the 7800GT for all their screw-ups.

$100+ in customs & shipping, 2 Cards, And a reformat later, I have nothing, Except for a broken card.

I'm running 83.40 FORCEWARE's right now and they do the same as the last ones I had on here (Don't know which ones). BF2 running at the same settings I use to be able to run with a 3.4Ghz prescott and a 6800LE.

Temperatures on card and CPU are fine, I tried overclocking the card to 518/1470 (coolbits auto-detect) and running it, same thing, Then once more at 500/1400... You guess the outcome.

Anyone have any ideas towards this? What I'm doing wrong? Any drivers that have proven themselves with the 7800GS or any console commands to fix this?

Just more info:

I installed BF2, SF, Then patched to 1.2, CPU is at 3.6Ghz, GFX temp reading 37*C.
Ever since the new update came out my 6800 vanilla has been LOADED with problems on BF2. Before it worked fine OCed. Now I have it on stock settings, and everything goes screwy in the game.....
