A8N SLI Premium and 4x 512Mb sticks

Thread Starter
I got a stable config with AMD 3800 (240*10) @ v1.41v with Corsair 2x512Mb PC300PT sticks @ 2.7v. timings 2.5/6/3/3/2T. BIOS rev 1009. I thought I would have an easy time and added 2 more of same memory. I have been unable to get a memtest stable at the following configs:

Increase with same timings @ 2.8, 3.0v
Timings of 2.5/7/3/3/2T, 2.5/8/3/3/2T, 3/8/3/3/2t
DDR 366 @ 2.5/6/3/3//2T, 3/8/3/3/2T
Setting to auto by SPD (DDR 332 3/7/3/3/2T)

I dont want to lower CPU speed/clock and would rather return the additional 1Gb memory than loose the clock/timings

Plenty of power Antec NEO 550, good temp and airflow with Antec P180 case and Zalman CPU cooler, EVGA 7800 GT video card (1 only)

Anyone have experience/suggestions with A8N-SLI Premium using 4 sticks and timings/BIOS that work? The Corsair PC2300PT memory is a good stick, thinking I should be able to get it working. The documentation/results from ASUS and Corsair really dont touch much upon 4 stick configs.

(about ready to rub a baloon on my head and touch the mem sticks for a test }:[ )

4 modules in any systme is always a challenge.. The best approach is to memtest each module individually and see how equal they are in their performance esp when OC'd, then pair them up.

Start at DDR400 and get them stable before OC'ing it is also an extra load on the CPU IMC so this may need a bump in voltage.

Look for Bank Interlace and disable this to see if it helps as well.

You are making the memory controller work much harder with four slots vs two slots. I would sell all four and buy two 1GB modules and doubly so if you wish to keep the same overclock.
