Getting a 3.73 GHz Intel - Page 2

Id go with the 955EE too. Those things are dual core and insane overclockers.
Very nice!

Just so you know a 3700 sd when oc'd to 2.8/2.9 ghz it's about the same as a 4.2ghz intel, so you might as well if you want go with the 3700sd and save hundreds of dollors, unless you want to phase change and go big.

If you don't have the 3.73ghz CPU yet, the best choice right now would be a Presler Extreme Edition. That one would be able to do 5.1ghz on water (300x17) easy. Just like mentioned above.

I would agree if this was compaired with a 90nm single core P4, but that couldnt hold a candle next to the dual core Intel. They are not even in the same class, and especialy when it comes to the 955ee, totaly night and day differance. Please correct me if Im wrong.

2nd: how much do you think I can overclock a 3.73ghz Intel chip to safely using a Bigwater SE as liquid coolant?

Thx for the help!
Cheese that's def a very nice box you got For overclocking purposes I would recommend like I do to anybody(especially for you since money doesn't seem to be an issue) is to build a custom wc setup. You'll get much better temps and results thus better overclocking ability from one with good quality components. The plus side that as well if something does go wrong you know the setup inside and out.

Those look like totally biased results to me...sisoft sandra and other benchmarking utilities have shown intel on top for video/audio...

i have a dell computer, i recently took my dad cpu and ram out of his and swpaed him, he has the 8250, and i have the 8200, so they are the proper socket and RAM type. My cpu was a 1.7 ghz, and his, my new one, is a 2.53 ghz processor. But why i run cpuz it says it is only running at 1.89..., when i boot up CSS it says the frequency is 1.9, and the FBS speed is 99 mhz. it is set at 100 mhz in the bios. I was wondering if there is anyway to default the cpu back to 2.5. Its a dell, so i know that they locked the bus, but i have gotten understanding thru the years that you can default it back some how, but no one knows how. If anyone has an answer please email me at ckrzeppy@gmail.com
