Bizarre Booting Problem

Thread Starter
recently i have been having a bizarre problem posting. I have two sticks of xms3200xlpro 512mb ram currently in my rig. The comp will not post with these modules. Even using one in every slot the computer refuses to post. The only way it will post is with a stick of valueram. The valueram presents no problem whatsoever and the system is stable. When trying to boot with the xms all of the lights come on on the ram module momentarily and then it just reverts back to one green light at the bottom of the modules. Any insights into this weird problem?

im using the default settings for the bios which are well within the ranges of the ram timings. the voltage is 2.65 which is low for the ram but it has posted with that voltage for months. I just tried the xms3200 sticks on another computer and they work fine. Neither the board nor the sticks are broken, so it must be some sort of interface issue.

Those modules have a minimum voltage of 2.75, try that and see what happens.

When you say default settings what do you mean. Make sure you are running your HTT at 200MHz and set your ram to 1:1 or 5:4, ie ddr 400 or 333 and set your MA timing to 2T. Try bumping the VDimm up a little more too (2.85), it is guaranteed up to 2.9volts so it will go even higher then that with no problems. If that does not work you may want to check to see how your psu is performing on your 3.3volt rail, should be damn constant.

Final note before I log if you are still having problems go to the corsair website and work your way through the Tech Support Express. If you do not find your answer that way read through the forums about your motherboard and memory issues. Good luck.
