Thanks Solo! So what is the trade off with going with more memory such as 4g vs. 2g? What is the benefit with more memory?

well running 4gb 4x1gb you'll have to run at 2T command rate, which is in real life about 2-5% decrease in performance and about 20-30% decrease in benchmarks as opposed to 1T
Also, with 4gb you'll stress your memory controller more and you'll be less likely to get as good of an oc.
Plus, depending on what OS you're using you may not even be able to use 4gb.

2gb. is more than enough for most applications. The only reason you'd need 4gb would be for some hard core editing in photoshop or video rendoring... or even making video games (shader and texture rendering) otherwise you should be good w/ 2gb in my book.

I mean come on... I'm still using 1gb (although I did order 2gb last night... shipped out today so I should have it by thurs.) I ordered some of this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231021
It uses Samsung UCCC IC's so it'll do DDR400 about 2.5-3-3-6 which isn't the best, but isn't too shabby either. will do DDR500 hopefully at 3-4-3-8 and typically will do DDR550-560 at 3-4-4-8. I wanted to get some of that OCZ that I was telling you about, but the extra 80$ just weren't there when they needed to be...

Ok, gotcha. That being the case, can you recommend the best Corsair 2g Pro set and a Crucial Tracer 2g set?

Thanks so much Solo!

Ok, let me ask you this... I already have 2g of this TWINX1024-4000PRO DDR 500 Corsair with the Leds, should I just keep this? Or is the Low Latency better?

well since you currently have 4x512 how do you like it? are you able to OC? That will give you a rough idea about how 4x1gb sticks will react in your system.

if you are happy with 2gb and the performance you currently have then you might want to stick w/ your 4x512 config, as you already have them.
