19,20, or 22 inch IPS panel monitors?

Thread Starter
My sister is looking for two 19,20, or 22 inch monitors with IPS, preferably with a resolution lower than 1680x1050.

She's an art student and does a lot of photo related works so color accuracy is important. (btw, would a calibrated TN monitor be color to IPS monitor in terms of color accuracy? )

I think most monitors are TN so I'd like to get a few recommendations from you guys.

I don't know how IPS monitors cost but cheaper would be better

Its all dependant on your budget ?

NEC
http://www.necdisplay.com/Products/C...8-33e412b8fb3c
You might Cry at the Price but you should be able to find some on ebay for a bit less LOL,

Samsung
http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/o...?pagetype=type

LG, Asus, sony,

If you get a monitor with a higher res then you should be able to scale down to suit your Sisters resolution requirements.

Those NEC's are good options, not sure why you would "cry at the price". That's what a quality panel costs. The 19" Wide screen at 1440*900 looks to be your best bet, though I think it's actually VA, rather than IPS.

Those samsungs are TN though.

You can find used Dell 2005FPW or 2007WFP for less than $200. Older 2007WFP may have banding issues but were mostly fixed in Rev. 03 models. Both are 20" and run at 1680x1050. I don't remember the specific differences between the two off the top of my head other than the 07 model is brighter. Other than that, the cheapest IPS panel you can buy new is going to be around $250.

The NEC link directs me to the AccuSync series business displays....judging on the price they are probably not the one you are talking about...(they are less than $200 lol)

Which model are you guys talking about? The only 19" NEC WS monitor with 1440x900 I can find is the NEC AS191WM.......but since you guys are talking about cry at the price I think you two are referring to the high end MultiSync series?

My sister is not a fan of samsung anyways so

I was saying I don't know why you would cry at the price. Yeah, TN 19" 1440*900 could probably be had for 60$ less, but that's TN. I was talking about the AS191WM.

If your able to open up to 1680*1050, then your options open up, like the 2209WA, or the 2005WFP. I can say the 2005 is awesome from personal experience.

Yeah $169 is nothing to cry about, the MultiSync and Healthcare monitors are crazy expensive tho lol

btw where did it say it's an IPS or VA panel for the AS191WM? I didn't see they mention anything about the panel type on NEC's website.

I showed her the 2209WA and she likes it, but the 1680x1050@20", the dot pitch is a little small on the 2005WFP

doesn't say specifically, but it gives a viwing angle of 176. Usually *VA's have 176, and IPS has 178. Not always, but usually. And then TN has like 170/160

As for pixel pitch (if that is your only concern) 19" 1440*900 has a 0.284 mm pitch (NEC mentioned)

The 2209 (22") has a 0.282 mm pitch, almost no difference.

Yea the pitch on 2209 is good but 2005's pitch is a little too small
