CPU-NB speed?

I remeber reading some one saying that CPU NB should be clocked at your rams speed /2 * 3 to get the best performance. So in my case that means
1600/2= 800
800*3= 2400

So right now im stable at 2400. Recently i read some other post that stated that 2600 was the sweet spot for Phen II systems.

What do i do?

3ghz or bust
my crappy cpu wont make it past 2800 without dice
a good cpu should do 3ghz with 1.4V

I remember reading that the IMC was improved from the C2 to C3 PII's.

This could explain why Most C2's couldn't get above 2600 (Mine BSOD's anything after 2400) and the C3's can be clocked near 3000 if not higher

Should i try to bring it as high as possible?
And what are the safe voltages for it?

I believe that is true. A 3 to 1 ratio is optimal. I guess it just depends if you can achieve it in a stable manner.

I'm not sure if it's necessary to go for 2600. I also read the post that said 2600 was the "sweet spot". But if setting it to 2600 makes things unstable then that wouldn't make any sense either.

Ive been out of the AMD overclocking scene for a few months now, so I dont know if my advice still applies.

In terms of performance, the CPU-NB will not do too much to performance.I found that the range for optimal stability can be quite large, ranging from stock to 2.8ghz.

So it all depends from one person to another.

Based on my experience, I have also noticed that for high overclocks such as yours, a CPU-NB of 2400-2800 is most common. The voltage required for that overclock is around 1.25-1.4.

technically speaking, you can have your CPU-NB as high as your Vcore. But yes 1.3-1.35 is very safe, provided that your temps are good

It depends too on the mobo quality, some doesn't like above 2200-2400, but with a good mobo 2400-2800Mhz is very possible with 1.35-1.45V on NB.
