Best PSU for $150?

Thread Starter
Hey guys,
Can you tell me whats the Best PSU, that i could buy for a max budget of $150?

I found the OCZ PowerStream 520W to be the best suited in the budget.
What about the NeoHE 500W?
Though, i feel a Single Strong 12V rail, is much better than Dual, Triple weaker rails.

Thanks for any help

$150 is not too much, you can't crap out on a power supply, you get what you pay for in the end.

I would suggest the PSU that I have although I think it was $160. It has quad 12V+ rails which add up to 54a or some crazy number.

Also look at the Silverstone Zues 650W. I think its 10$ cheaper than mine because it isn't modular. Both are on newegg.

I think Silverstone hands down has the top quality PSUs, both are these two power supplies are better than almost anything out on the market, plus you could get a modular one to keep everything clean.

People say that 1 Highly rated 12V Rail, like 33A's peak 38A's on the OCZ PS 520W is better than Dual, Triple, Quad rails, with lower Amps on each.
Is this correct?

No, more rails were invented for a reason. With more rails it can more efficiently distribute the load onto different rails and make the system more stable when loading. The Silverstones have 18a on each rail i think and they are among the best PSUs ever made.

There is a benefit to having more than 1 rail because you can put dirty devices on other rails and try to keep your power purer to your video card. Fans, especially LED fans, are especially "noisy" on power lines and are better off being isolated to a different line. It's also nice to balance out the power consumption across the rails. However, I don't feel that 15 amps is enough to feed today's top cards. My opinion is get a dual rail with over 15 amps on each rail.

You answered you own question
http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merch...Code=ps-201500

...but for $155 I'd honestly get the Silverstone Zeus 650w. 40A, quad rails, etc.
I have one and couldn't be happier.
