Hey guys I think something is messed up. Sequential read/write for me is only 183/64 for me, and I'm running a Vertex 2 with AHCI enabled. Help?

Does the quality of the s-ata cable count of the speed you get?

Can I buy cheap on ebay or dealextreme? Anyone got any links to any good ones that doesn't cost to much?

Monoprice. Yes poorly made cables can cause problems, but I haven't really seen any that are that bad. You can always use the ones that came with the motherboard itself. I haven't seen any of them ship with low quality cables.

I'll check out http://www.monoprice.com. Hope they ship to Norway!

I need more cables that came with the M/B

If not, then look for OKGear cables. That's what monoprice sells. I haven't heard of anyone having problems with OKGear cables. They have a bad one every now and then like all manufacturer's will, but they make very good cables.

Guys I think I have a problem... well 2 problems I guess. First off, I cannot for the life of me get my AS SSD to go to English no matter what I do. I have physically changed it to English dozens of times and it just wont work. Tell me what I am doing wrong because I am sure that there is some sort of easy fix for this. Secondly, My SSD Scores have fallen greatly. I'll list my before and after ones and you tell me if it's bad enough for me to do something about and if so what do I need to do (and buying new hardware isn't an issue lol)...

Read Original scores New Scores

Seq; 351.79 MB/s/ 352.58 MB/s
4K; 33.53 MB/s/ 33.29 MB/s
4K-64 Thrd; 168.44 MB/s / 174.01 MB/s
Acc. time ; 0.115 ms / 0.119 ms

Write

Seq ; 130.08 MB/s / 130.71 MB/s
4K ; 78.52 MB/s / 36.85 MB/s
4K-64 Thrd ; 105.83 MB/s / 37.55 MB/s
Acc. time ; 0.724 ms / 0.816 ms

Scores: ; 237,197,559 / 243,87,457

I am truly worried about these scores. They seem to have dropped in all the "Performance" places (or at least from what I can tell) and that is what worries me the most. Please help to shed some light on this. I used to get 7.9 in WEI (Windows Experience Index) but now I am back to a 5.9. I know WEI is, for the most part, a useless tool but it should help to show that there is some sort of problem here too you know. Thanks in advance for any information or help that you can offer on this matter. I am not totally against getting a new drive as one of these Vertex 3's look really nice (that is if I can find one in stock and if I could afford the 240 GB Version (OCZ Vertex 3 240 GB SATA III SSD) but at $556 after shipping, that is a tall price to pay for something that I am unsure will perform that well on my X58 motherboard (As to say a motherboard without Native SATA III). So I guess my third question would be, would getting a new SATA III SSD (With Sand Force 2281) be worth it on my motherboard (Asus P6X58D Premium) or should I skip getting a Core i7-970 and just get a 2600k and P67 Motherboard for close to the same price? I am going to be using it for folding (which I know the 2600k is only a quad core and wont quite get me as many points per day as a hexacore i7-970 will so that's why I might just stay with the 970 and upgrade later when the "New" chipset comes out). Ok, ok, I know there are like 25 questions in there but hopefully some of you guys can help to answer at least some of them. And again, thanks for any help you can offer.

C300 ftw!

I put the wrong chipset! It is "P55 PCH" instead of "ICH10". Fix it please, when you got time

Although they're way below the advertised SSD speeds, your scores are similar to what I'm getting... :/ I think the SSD makers use a benchmark called ATTO (OCZ told me this) and that is much more SSD friendly...
