I've got good news for you. You can keep RAID mode. When you connect a single drive (SSD or HDD) to SATA port in RAID mode, it will automatically operate in AHCI mode. So you can have your HDDs in RAID0 and SSD in AHCI at the same time.

Hi, does theese results look okay for a m4 on sataIII

But for some reason I get 5.9 on the ol' WEI

Thanks.

Don't worry about WEI. It sometimes bugs out. Many people got such a problem. It is nothing crucial.

Speed is good. But was there no drivers with motherboard specifically for SATA? I think the speed could be slightly improved that way with proper drivers. Currently you are using Windows driver "msahci".

But to be honest it is nothing to worry about. Speed is really very good as it is.

You're fine, that's the speeds it should be at.

As said, don't worry about WEI, it's pointless as long as you're getting the SSD results you're supposed to and you are.

EDIT: I'm not sure why your benchmark shows your SSD as ATA Device. When mine showed that, it was slower, odd. I got it fixed afterwards. But you're getting the rated speeds.

How did you fix it ?, Is this why win 7 thinks its a HDD not a SSD?

Yeah, that's odd to me anyway, but you're still getting the right speeds.

I used this thread - http://www.overclock.net/ssd/929553-...p-secrets.html

Maybe you missed something minor, but I did most of that and it helped me get it working like it should.

Right, I downloaded all of the patches for win 7 from MS update and ran WEI one last time for the hell of it and . . .

7.9, naturally

I know it doesn’t mean much but it was deeply troubling to be honest.

Do you have the benchmark screenshot when using Intel SATA II controller? Ideally, you should avoid Marvell. It doesn't pass TRIM command to SSD to keep its performance up and you will lose more and more speed over time.

So what I would suggest is to plug your SSD into Intel SATA II port, update Intel RST drivers and do a "force TRIM" since you are saying you have been using the drive for some time on Marvell. You can find a tool for that somewhere on OCZ forums.

Even if you can't imporve benchmark score, it is better to stay on Intel controller. Other than that, don't know really. Are you in AHCI mode in BIOS?

i will try just one more time with sata II and intel drivers... last time, when i tried it, i got worse results than on marvel...

what do you think, is this a bad result?

just one more result in crystaldiskmark...

yes, it is AHCI in BIOS...

my mobo doesnt have a native sata III and I think that is the main thing... i would get better results with p67..
