Only if it's an Intel SATA 3 port and the drive can read at over 300 MB/s. The one in that SS isn't even saturating a SATA 1 controller, let alone a SATA 2 or 3 so it wouldn't see any benefit.

Well, I have my new M4 installed, but I secure cleaned my Vertex 2E 60GB SSD and re-ran the bench test.

The old score was 186. The new score.... well.. its pretty goo IMO.

This isn't bad for a 60GB Vertex 2E is it?

Would there be any benefit to connecting the SSD to a SATA III port versus the SATA II port it's currently installed in?

Any idea why the speeds are so far below the advertised speeds? According to the details page I should be hitting 285/275MB/s. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227611

Yeah that is good about where it should be, is it one of the older Vertex 2's ie, with full 32nm nand ? If so I bet it's faster than your new ssd! In real terms, like system boot/restart and virus scan. My old Vertex 2 did an Avast quick scan in 22 seconds, Vertex3 45 and this 128GB C300 52 seconds.

Its the Vertex 2E version with the 25nm NAND. But no my M4 is really fast on boot up.

Here's the comparison between the 2.

What does "high score" mean? New high score, is that bad? What does that mean? Did I break it?
