What a difference it made going from the Marvel 6gb Controller to the Intel!

Your 4K results are a bit low. This is what I get with my X-25M.

That's what I'm using right now too. Didn't trust Marvel that much either.

Kinda weird that in the mobo's website, gigabytes said that I need to install preinstall driver prior to installing the controller. How come?

http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3852#dl

By the way, in case I want to wipe my SSD and reinstall windows on it (assuming that after many bsod from overclocking, my system becomes unstable), which program should I use? hdderase or dban?

Not sure re your first question as my system is amd

Second question, I always use Parted Magic to secure erase disc, total doddle only takes about 2 mins once you have the boot disc done. Though BSOD's wont be a reason in itself for a reinstall as files aint fragmented like when not shutting down properly on a HDD

When using Parted Magic follow the instructions but at start choose option 4 to boot from Alternate graphical server, not the default as some GPU's you get a black screen with the default boot.

Plug the SSD mobo on once parted magic has booted, this stops drive being placed in frozen mode by the bios.

I guess there are programs other than Parted Magic that I could use, right?

Since bsod is not affecting the system adversely, maybe I should just wait and see how it goes for now. +rep for you thumb.gif

Here is mine, the 4K-64Thrd score looks low, perhaps because I'm in IDE?

All your scores are low because you need to switch to AHCI mode
