Maybe the drives are quite full?

Either way sadly the only way to "clean" RAIDed drives is to break the array, then TRIM them, then recreate the array ... quite a time-consuming process just to TRIM them, that's why RAID isn't the best in the long run.

At least your write access times are still great, that's the beauty of these Intel drives, they are still quick even when quite "degraded"

Also not sure which firmware you have on them...

Are they the G1 drives or G2?

I haven't had it up for more than 10 days- did a fresh win 7 install recently.
and I have 100gb free of 149bg

I didn't flash any firmware or anything so they have what ever came on them.
not sure how to tell. well by looking at the drive I have on top, its firmware says 02hd.

How do I tell if they are g1 or g2?

Thanks

I took this pic when building but the camera didnt focus worth a damn- looks like I'll have to pull em out to see the firmware on the lower drive..

Edit: heres a link to one of them I think its a g2- This is the second one I bought. In the picture on newegg site it shows it with the black trim ring, but the one I got didnt come with one.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820167016
and heres the other, also g2 i think
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820167023

for one drive, specs say read up to 250, write up to 70mb
I think the drives may have different firmware versions. probably not good huh?
(links are taken directly from my newegg order history, FYI)

well the "discontinued" one looks to have shipped with 02HA firmware, you said the other one shipped with 02HD firmware (which is the latest) both of those firmware versions only apply to G2 drives, so they are both G2.

You can update the firmware on the one that's not up to 02HD...
(just download the firmware update ISO, burn it to a disc, reboot, switch to IDE mode, boot the disc, update the firmware, and restart back into RAID mode)

Not to sure why your write numbers are down... what version of the Intel RST drivers are you running.
Did you run the Intel Toolbox Optimizer at least once before you put them into RAID?
Maybe because you have 3 Arrays? I don't know...

Definitely not, check out mine:

Latest firmware, enabled AHCI, etc. Pretty much did everything I could. Rig has been up for about 2 weeks.

Not bad, if you want TRIM, you'll need to switch from nvstor64 to the msahci driver... otherwise the numbers look fine... did you enter it into the spreadsheet (use the BIG RED LINK on the OP)

Nvidia's SATA controller is never going to be an ICH10R... but you might get a bit more if you put it on Microsoft's AHCI driver and ran a manual TRIM (Intel Toolbox Optimizer)
