But why don't they just make an ssd for pci?
Yep PCI-Ex SSDs are very new, but they exist...

OCZ is leading the charge there as usual.

Cool, I just googled and found the OCZ drives, I did not know they where doing that.Big price, the cheap one on newegg is $1009.00
It looks like notebook ram on a pcb with pcie!

Sequential Access - Read: up to 700MB/s
Sequential Access - Write: up to 500MB/s
Thats fast! But they should show the 4K speeds, thats what makes a drive for the everyday user.
I am sure it is faster, but would like to know what the real world 4k speeds would be.

Missed this message, it doesn't relate to the quoted text at all...

copying windows to a separate free drive has nothing to do with drivers or firmware...

Still stuck on a SATAII board for the C300, so I'm hoping to remedy the bottleneck with a SATA3 PCI-E adapter Was very pleased with the results of my first SSD.

EDIT: oops, it was on ger!

Day to day usage of the C300 won't be any different from the X25-M... you wouldn't notice the difference until you wanted to compare benchmarks

Anyway you forgot to fill in the form (Big Red link in the OP)

Your X25-M result is great, >420 is really top tier
