Chrome 4 processes?

So i change my BC2game to "realtime" via task manager every time I play, why? Idk, i feel it makes the game run a tad smoother on my rig. Anyways, but I go to look and I see Chrome (yea the browser) has 4 things running, yet only 1 window open.

Trying to close any of the 4 closes chrome, but why does chrome have 4 things running at the same time? Its not my PC being slow, there is just 4 there. With 1 chrome open.

Im sure its NOT something major, but just made the bulb in my head light up.

Thought it be "tabs" but i only have 1 tab open. And opening more did not add to the list.

Chrome separates tabs and extensions into separate processes. If you right click on the menu bar of chrome you can actually open up a task manager to kill a tab or extension. So that is why, nothing wrong

Could be that chrome uses three processes, or multiple ones for different tabs? if its really bothering you, reinstall it. There is nothing wrong with it though, its different, but not necessarily bad. especially since it isnt slowing anything down.

exactly...i noticed the same thing the first time i used chrome, but then saw i had 3 tabs and 3 processes, so i fgured thats what it was

Yep thats what i was going to say, tabs add on and i believe any add ons or extensions may add a process.
