Won't detect my Audigy 2 zs?

Thread Starter
I have the AA8XE fatal1ty board with an audigy 2 zs in the last pci slot. The board wont detect the card at all. It's like its not even there. I know the card works as I took it out of a working computer. When I try to install drivers for it, it just says that there isnt a supported device installed in the system. I disabled the onboard sound and the little soundcard isnt plugged in. Is there some option in the bios or something to detect PCI cards that I've never seen before? Theres two PCI slots on my board, I tried it in both and the same happened. I dont see how this card could just be dead, I was using it with my old computer and I took it out and put it on a static bag where's in been for 2 weeks...

Whats the problem here?

I have had that problem with my old computer (ASUS P4P800SE) but switching PCI slots fixed it. Have you tried it back in the first computer? Its possible that it died in the transfer.

I'm about to try it in another computer. That would suck if it died.
I enabled onboard sound just trying things and after I rebooted it said "Found PCI device" so I got all excited but its not for my soundcard. I guess it's for the little sistercard that the onboard uses...

If you put it in the third slot down form your G-card it should work as as in alot of Mobo's the third slot down is the PCI bus master where the sound card generally should go.

I'd try simply reseating it first. It might not be completely in there. If that doesn't work, as everyone has said, try a different slot. If that doesn't work try it in the old rig.

Yes that is a very valid point as this has happend to me..Where you actually think its fully seated and will even screw in nicely and you realise that the back end of the card has been lifted out by you screwing it in..SO check that out buddy.

Well I'm waiting for my brother to be done with his computer so I can try it out in there. If it works I'll know its something with my motherboard.

I dont beleive it would be your motherboard But then again you may just have one dodgy PCI slot as such.

Well I've reseated it in the PCI slot and also tried the other PCI slot. It didnt detect the card at all in either of them. If it doesnt work in my brothers computer, it must be dead and that sucks! To onboard it is for me until I get enough money for an x-fi or something.
