Lack of results from new RAM

Thread Starter
I just upgraded my ram from 1 GB of Kingston ValueRAM @ 200 mhz 3-3-3-7 to 2 GB of OCZ Platinum @ 200 mhz 2.5-2-3-5 and im getting basically no performance increase in 3dmark05. The only thing that has changed is the RAM ( same version of 3dmark05, same graphics driver), and with the first set of ram i scored a 7639 and with the new ram i scored a 7644. Is this lack of performance increase out of the ordinary or no?

the slight change in timings wont reflect any real performance gain... overclock that mem and keep the timings and youll see a difference

cant really overclock it without lowering my FSB. I have the FSB at 255 so i have the ram running at ddr333. I cant get windows to load with the ram at 255 mhz even if i loosen the timings.

::shrug:: i figured the fact that i have 2 GB instead of 1 GB would show some performance increase.

reason this is bothering me is that there are multiple reviews from people on newegg who have the same motherboard as me claiming to be running this at ddr400 like 3-2-3-5 @ 240 mhz+. I hope i didnt get a bad batch.

i think i had a misunderstanding of what 1t/2t means. So far all of the settings i had tried were on 2t. sorry for my noobishness, please give me a complete setup that you think i should try.
