just tinkering with my 3700+ - Page 3

That it does. But I only have to wait until I get my Opty 146 or 3700+ Sandy. Hopefully I can get results like this... 3GHz on stock HS/F... You should pick up a Big Typhoon and see how much farther you can push that baby.

I'm thinking about upgrading my cooling. How much will a Big Typhoon drop my temps?

heres an OCCT test @ 3.02
I stoped after this screenie b/c temps made me nervous. I figured since it got this far it should make it to the end.

Namrac- I do think I'm going to buy a Big Thphoon.
or should I go water cooling?

Since u can push that cpu to hit 3.0 and higer I say go with water cooling. so when summer comes u dont have to worry about ur temps going high and u dont have to lower ur OC due to cpu temps.

A Big Typhoon costs about $50, and will rival low-end watercooling setups in terms of temps, and a good custom liquid cooling setup will put you back about $200, but it'll keep everything nice and cool.

Don't believe it's stable unless it tells ya, I thought I was until it was, right around 75-80%, then it failed.
50 C is still safe for the CPU for testing purposes, it shouldn't go much more than that for you were at 24% w/ the CPU @ 97%, it should stay right around that temp.

what's your stepping?

so those data you provided are prime95 stable ? i mean at least 12+ hours?

the highest OC i have ever reached with my cpu is 3.33 Ghz, it could do super PI @ 1.6 Ghz, but it only could run prime stable for 51 mins...
the most stable is 2.76 Ghz @ 1.55 for prime95 24+ hours, and rock solid is 2.8 Ghz for prime 95 13+ hours.
