Important!!!! Can I Put A 7800gt In That Rig? Is 420w Enough??!?

Hey! Here's my power supply http://www.viperlair.com/reviews/cas...su/pstream420/

I payed a lot for it (over 100 bucks) 6 months ago... so plz tell me it can run a 7800GT!!!!! It's supposed to be top quality PSU!

It's not necessarily about wattage. It also has to do with amperage. You want to have at least 32A between all of your +12V rails. The OCZ units are very good in this regard.

first go to user CP at the top of the page and fill out you system information. it should run it depending on what else its powering. it has 30amps on the single 12volt rail so its probably enough.

Yes, that OCZ PSU can handle it. 30A in the +12V rail is excellent.

I used to run a 6800 GT with a Thermaltake 430W and it only had 18A in the +12V.

I think it should be allright but my 7800 GTX required a current of 26A at 12 V and it required at least 450 W. It's a GTX, not a GT so the GT should be allright
