The 3D Fallout Apperciation Club! - Page 286

Oh, guys, that .dll fix posted earlier works WONDERFULLY. Areas with high NPC concentrations were absolute slideshows, but then I threw that .dll in and they're smooth as butter. Well, as smooth as any other part of the wasteland, at any rate.

Fixed. Spahs aren't from Alabama, they're from Paris.

Btw, I found Vault 3. Have yet to explore, doing some quests first, but I know where it is.
There is a chainsaw down there. Do feel free to 'acquire' it by any means you deem necessary.

Oh, guys, anyone found a Fat Man? I bought the Little Boy upgrade for it from the GunRunners but I can't find the weapon to which that upgrade mounts.

Edit: By the way, have any of you guys interacted with Felicia Day (okay, Veronica in-game...), the Brotherhood of Steel companion? I just want to know if this is universal among all companions, but does she kick some MAJOR @$$, or does my character just suck? I walked into a steel mill near Vegas, there were around 7 or 8 Mr. Handy military versions (forget what they're called exactly--the ones with flamethrowers and plasma weapons who tend not to dic* around)... I died a good couple of times trying to kill them with my puny guns, but then I tried a new strategy, namely hiding in the corner while Veronica completely owned those SOBs... she could 2 or 3 hit them. Took me like 20 shots from my better guns.
I pwned the Btoherhood so no. I think she's dead. If not she likely hates my ass.

My conclusion: Companions are OP.
Less QQ more Pew Pew

This game feels like it's very heavily EW biased. That blows for someone like me who only likes a good old fashioned boomstick. I have a 78 Guns, but only a 17EW skill, and the Gauss rifle is the second best weapon I've used so far, second only to the AMR. I only just got that, too. Oneshotted a Nightkin Master with it though, that was win.

Vault 42 fully supports any attempt to get someone holding out to stop holding out. The game is just that good, random Gamebryo cockups aside.

You'll love it.

Oh boy. Uhh. Yeah. They're very OP. They're also decent to have around thanks to the companion wheel. I'm currently wandering with ED-E. The ability to see and target cloaked enemies, as well as all enemies at an astonishing range, comes in VERY handy. An Auto-aim fix isn't needed as long as he's in your party.

ED-E makes Fawkes look like a pushover. Lily, the super mutant follower, makes Fawkes look like a bloatfly.

Sure me may be a big dumb brute with a bajillion HP(Perhaps Fawkes was really Heavy Weapons Guy pre-dip??), but the followers in NV are wayyy more useful and therefore way more effective.

I never used Fawkes. =x

Boone is usually taking down Giant Radscorpions and Nightkins quicker then I can aim or get VATS going.

Side questing ftw.

Note regarding Fat Man. I've found ONE, and for the love of God I don't remember where as I didn't like using it in FO3. I do know of a merchant selling them though. Hint: Bunkers.

yeah. boone is crazy.

i simply aim for the people furthest away because he usually blows the heads off guys before i can aim at them. so he takes the guys close and i kill the far away ones.

Haha, Apparently. The sad part is people are paying even more for the console codes. The xbox and ps3 codes are going for $25 to $30.

I think it makes it look a little better but that 20 frame drop in the first one is a no go for me

Autosave issue.

If anyone is using autosaves and they keep getting rolled back to a previous save look here: http://www.thenexusforums.com/index....9#entry2222119

If you get a database error.

Both work now. Must've been the site, being down for a moment.
