Thread Starter
So I am just putting together this rig below....

Right now, I just have the ATX 12V and the 24 pin power cable attached. When I turn on the power, nothing happens... the CPU fan is not even spinning. The cpu fan cable is connected and everything...

ANy help is appreciated.

Make sure you have everything plugged in on the mother board. For example my DFI has 3 plugs on the board that have to have power applied to work. So check that out. If you are running dual channel mem take one stick out for now. Make sure your vid card is seated in the mother board correctly and unplug anything that is not required to run the computer. Only thing you should have in the computer to make sure its working is CPU, MEM, VID Card if it boots up then slowly start adding components to the system. If it doesn’t boot up you need to make sure you parts are not DOA

EDIT: Just thought of this but make sure you MB is grouned to the case as well.

lol... yes.. power button is on the "on" position...

I had everything working and was in the middle of installing Windows XP when it powered off by itself... So I proceeded to unhook everything... HD, CD, Video, etc... to try and figure out what's going on... even both memory stick are out.

The darn thing won't turn on at all... I noticed that the PSU internal fan is not turning either.... should it be running or does it turn on only when a certain temp is reached?

Yeah... I am thinking that the PSU might be dead... although motherboard's power LED light is on...
