Aye, I am a Intel fan, however, Celerons = Poop

EDIT: spelling typo

Im not too into the latest and greatest, normally I just use autocad, winamp, firefox and quake 3..
I recently upgraded from an 800mhz system to a sempron 2600 w/ 768mb ram and a geforce 5200 128mb... Even for the minimal stuff I do the jump was awesome, never knew what I was missing...

Asus K8V-MX
Sempron Socket 754 2600+
512mb/3200
256mb/3200
GeForce FX 5200 128mb
SATA 80GB
IDE 80/40/40GB

My sempron is much faster than my athlon64 (newcastle): I can run it a solid 200MHz faster, and I guess SSE3 helps out...semprons are teh pwnage lol. They aren't top of the line, but if you just want it fast enough, semprons are killer.

Note: things may change with new sockets, cores, etc.

EDIT: In fact, I'm running 1.8 stock right now and it's plenty fast; I can hardly tell a difference...
