Have I been ripped off ? - Page 3

well if you know where you got it... even if you paid w/ cash you can bring it back and tell them that you got it as a gift just a few days ago and you opened it up, but when you intalled it it said it was a 6600 series not a 6800 series. it's worth a shot.

You might even "suggest" you will replace your entire computer through them. It's the old carrot on the stick trick. If they give you a copy of the bill check it and compare it to the marks on the gpu as noted above. Then you have documentation to support your issue.
DO THIS ....Doesnt matter what you paid for if you were sold a 6800 and recieved a 6600 then they are in teh wrong ...could be classed as fraud

I could be possible that someone bought the card before you and did a switch . If it was a retail outlet with a return policy ,like some here in the states ,they give you 14 days to return it no questions asked . If someone returned their *6800* but really put a 6600 back in the box, i bet they look simular enuff to fool someone in the returns department slacking at their job.

Just a theory ofcourse , but possible. Rukkee
