response time... you want less than 14ms
contrast ratio... you want more than 550:1 more like 700:1 is great...
and try to just stick with a good/known brand name if you can...

Ah, they might be good, they might not. At Tesco we have the Samsung Syncmaster 710N for £160 and a random Acer with an 8ms response time for £150

that sounds about rite.. but not really a deal though lol, they are £143 on dabs, but i guess then ya would have to pay for P & P and also trust delivery men instead of buying it from a shop and taking it home yourself lol!

Dose anyone know anything about computer fairs, there is one fairly near me on twice a month (about 1 hours drive), its just i was wondering can they be trusted and how much cheaper do they sell parts? considering they buy them in bundles so I'm told?

some parts are ok to buy.... but i dont go to them because they rip you off everychance they get, i bought a cd rom and a hard drive from a guy that promised it would work, got home and it didnt work...HD was fried, and the cd rom had a screw stuck in it.... so if you really wanna go, just be very picky and try to test the product there.... otherwise i say stay away, its not worth the "good deal"

I have to agree you have to be real careful in those situations that you dont get ripped off and conned.

ahh lol well so far the company who run it called "Advanced Fairs" are good in my books.. so far lol, as they sold a full build computer to someone i know for £1500 instead of £2500..yea I'm sure the guy waffled on about how it was reduced from £2500 lol! well at least it worked.
I will be careful that's for the tips guys!
