I agree. I much prefer speakers for music.

IMO, the Swans will be better for now because they have a sub. The speakers in the AV40 and the A2 are prolly higher quality, but they lack a sub. This gives you options down the road, but for immediate gratification and sound pleasure the M10 will most likely be better. IIRC, they are about the same as ProMedia 2.1s, which I have and love.

I'd go with the audioengines. They're better speakers and you'll be able to upgrade to a sub down the road, but i've seen both the M10s and A2s recommended together. The M10s are less expensive and you'd get more immediate reward out of your purchase where as the A2s might last you longer with the addition of a sub. Wish I would have gotten some bookshelves instead of my klipsch pro medias because the sub is not great. Probably be getting a set of A2's next year, since a proper amp for my 650s is my next upgrade.
