Xbox 360 NTSC-J or NTSC

Hey
While cruising ebay i saw that there were some Xbox 360's for sale that were originally for sale in japan, so they had where the NTSC-J format.
In my knowledge (correct me if i'm wrong:withstupi ) but the stuff over here is NTSC. So im wondering, is there a difference between the two? If there is, could i still play US games on it? would US accesories work with it? If it just has to do with movie playback i don't really care, just as long as it works with the US games.
Please help a horribly obbsesed gamer.

If it was originally intended for sale in Japan, I don't think it will work here mainly because of the power requirements (220v vs 110v).

As far as the games are concerned I believe they should all work the same.

From Wikipedia:

Quote:
Only Japan's variant "NTSC-J" is very slightly different: in Japan, black level and blanking level of the signal are identical, as they are in PAL, while in American NTSC, black level is slightly higher than blanking level. Since the difference is quite small, a slight turn of the brightness knob is all that is required to enjoy the "other" variant of NTSC on any set as it is supposed to be; most watchers might not even notice the difference in the first place.
Sounds to me like it would work. I probably wouldn't buy it myself, though.

And tell your parents that there is nothing wrong with Ebay. Can you get scammed? Sure. Can you get scammed face-to-face just as easily? Sure.

the one u saw was the 360 for japan(of coz). the power is the same, both US n Japan us 110V system. the difference is NTSC is for US with region 1 dvd while NTSC-J is for Japan with region 2 dvd. that's the diff between two. they put the 'J' thing is because US n Japan use the same NTSC system but different region code...
