New to the game. Have managed to get fairly far without many head bangin' episodes. I am now tring to go to the next level with fewer headaches. Looking forward to any educated guesses. I know dumb looks are still free.

Hey and welcome, could you please elaborate on what you mean by the next level. Give some specs on what you have right now and what youd like to accomplish.

Always enjoyed hardware but usually problems were software. After spending many $ decided to work on them myself. During this I built a couple of machines for friends and have enjoyed enuf to build one for myself. Have managed to get pc to decent overclock levels. I am now trying to figure out memory timings to go farther.

A few quick questions:
-What exact type of ram do you have(link would be helpful)
-Do you have a divider running for the memory
-What do you have the timings set to
-What do you have the vdimm voltage set to

Also, if you dont already have CPU-Z, download the program as it is very helpful in finding information about your setup

Those settings look pretty great. Where do you want go from here? Can you be a little more specific on 'the next level'? Would you like to get more from your memory(which I suspect isnt the case) or more from your Cpu?

Dinner was awaitin'. I'm pretty happy with memory which was limit with corsair vs. Now I would like to bump up cpu. I think i should reduce ht multiplier to 4x and now increase fsb to 255. Current cpu volts set at +.025v. Should i raise this also if no boot.

Well since you have no divider on your memory, set a 3:4 or 5:6 divider. Lower your ht multi to 4x and start upping the frequency. Increase in tiny increments and prime95 each setting to ensure stability. The higher you go with frequency you might need to boost the vcore a bit, but make sure load temps dont exceed 50C.
