Help with 9800gt - Page 5

I just stick Folding on it straight away. Takes 5/10 minutes to find out if it's stable enough.

I don't like failing WUs, so I'd rather not fold () briefly to make sure it's stable first

Since I only OC the shaders, I'm rarely at the limit of the card (ie, just on the threshold of being unstable), so it either Folds for me, or an UNSTABLE MACHINE error straight away. And in most cases, I drop a strap and it restarts the same WU.

No failed WU for me.

I'd try to OC the shaders more, but I'd do at the beginning of a WU so if it EUEs you don't loose many points

I'd wait until you finish this WU just in case something goes wrong (assuming you're more than 25% done--otherwise just OC now)
My GPU EUE points count. It is a partial point based on the % done before the EUE happened (and I think you have to be a certian % done though).

Really?
Every time I've had a WU crash prematurely (anywhere on the 10-90% completed range) I never get points for it (easier to tell back when I only had one card). I'll have to try deliberately getting an EUE to see what happens

I never get partial points either normally... but you can use qfix:
http://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=191

Of course, I don't fail WUs.

Getting 5-6K

Stock @ 600/900/1500

Well the wierd thing about mine is i dont get any artifacting, warning, or errors. My core clock just drops to 300mhz, and my shader clock drops to 600mhz when i overclock too high!

Last night my settings were: 648/1674/900 and it did the drop after about 30 mins after i feel asleep so it killed my points for that period of time. Does anyone have any idea how I can keep it from doing this?

Also that doesnt seem like THAT high an overclock, so why is it becoming unstable?

Now running at 612/1620/900 with out the drop for 15 minutes or so.

EDIT: I dont have any failures either, which it seems like I should have...

Check nVidia Control Panel> Manage 3D settings> change "Adaptive Performance" to "Maximum Performance" (I think those are the names).
