I am not positive but I think you unlocked the other 2 cores on your cpu. I don't think yours is capable of hyperthreading
very well pointed out moonshadow, i'd assumed +LAF had got a 2gb kit but now looking back its only one stick, my bad +LAF, that will be a bit of a liability in the system until you can get a second stick

This isn't true though moonshadow, unlocking isn't possible on the athlon chips unfortunately

Yeah, it's not an unlockable chip, the Semprons unlock to these, but they don't unlock further I'm afraid...

Is it better to run Dual channel over Single Channel? I still owe mum $190... then I'm saving $500 for a trip to NZ in late November, before I buy anything else... maybe I'll just save and get the Ripjaws when I buy the PSU and HDD... I think it's just a waste spending $100 more now when I am getting 2x2GB later anyway, especially when it's the only computer in the house running DDR3...

BTW I earn about $85 a week, so it'll only be like 2 months... in the meantime I'll keep OCing and look into a case mod as well

EDIT: At 3.2GHz... I'm at ~43C with 100% CPU usage, CPU fan is audible now... It's freezing up a little bit, but only cause it's under 100% load and I am trying to do stuff in Everest... the test is running just fine

try and take it back and get a 2gb kit, 2gb is enough for what your using it for and you may get some money back

I don't want to push it, it isn't faulty, and the 2GB kits are more expensive...

Plus remember I am currently a heap in debt, and on top of that I have to buy some decent TIM and a new kb and mouse (plus I pay a restocking fee for the old one :S)

BTW I edited my last post heavily, please reread it

And I want to know how to fix the RAM issue too... I disabled that "Unleashing mode" thingo... did nothing

Crap it just froze... only for an instant... should I just run it on default settings? I changed it to "high"... it did freeze when I was looking at other Everest menus, might be me not the overclock

There would be a ram multiplier so to speak somewhere, i'd do a google search to find what it is

What sort of freeze was it? Did everything just freeze or was it everything but the mouse? A everything but the mouse freeze usually is fine (usually just the PC under extreme strain), if its a full freeze it could be anything, just make sure that it passes the stress test first

The timer stopped at 9:24, then returned to 9:26... twas only a second, and it was when I was clicking through tabs on Everest and Task Manager displayed 100% usage... so I'm not worried too much at all

Can't find a RAM multiplier... tomorrow I am out so I am going to run a few hours of LinX until I get home, that way I'm positive it's ok (will do this at around 3.4, with it set to get temps from Everest and shut down at 55C).

I have some friends wishing to play CoD, I'll get pics of the BIOS up after that + Sea Patrol (yeah, I know, it's a crappy show, but I watch it anyway)

EDIT: Just froze again... I'll wait and see if it says there were errors

if it hasn't done it again and you could still move the mouse you should be safe, it probably was just switching work units or something. Give it a go folding and linx at the same time overnight, that'll tell you if its 100% stable

In most BIOSes i've seen its right under the normal multiplier for the CPU, if not some more searching may be needed (i'll do some now :typing

Your GPU won't help with that, but you'll probably still get it pretty high considering you've probably got one of dells crappy monitors

No it's an LG 19" LCD flatscreen now, mum said we had it lying around so I snapped it up...

The vid card isn't very powerful, but overall it is faster than every other comp in the house... now i just need a wired mouse, I get tons of input lag, even on high sensitivity :'(
Plus I'm still really rusty at CoD after a term of not playing

As I said, I'll post pics and you guys can help... never done this before!

I love this case! How is it ugly at all?

Although I love the HAF series, and most people consider them ugly...

And plus, this one isn't just awesome, it's functional too
